NARRATIVE:
In my time here, I have been involved with a number of teams and committees. Chief among these are the K-8 Arts Integration Team and the 9-12 Arts Integration Team. These groups, meeting monthly, work to connect the arts to in-class experiences around the school. The 9-12 Team is an extension of the national Kennedy Center Partnership for the Arts. This partnership leverages the resources of both the DIS school system and Opera House Arts. I have been to Washington DC for two Annual Partnership Meetings. At these meetings I have been involved in a national conversation regarding arts integration in schools and I have also had the opportunity to attend numerous workshops with teaching artists and administrative professionals. I have been able to bring these experiences back to DIS and used many of the strategies within my classroom.
